This bandwagon feels comfy

I just did something that I haven’t done in a long time, possibly ever. I searched for and watched a hockey game online. Now don’t get me wrong, while I’m not much of a sports fan in general, I do watch hockey, or at least Habs games in the playoffs, I am a Montrealer after all. But to date, it’s only been in one of two situations: either game’s on TV and there’s nothing else on (or I’m at someone else’s house) or I’m out at a bar.
Stuff I didn’t do part 2: Dr Horrible
Posted by Jason in Commentary, Funny Videos on March 20, 2010
More proof that the internet is taking over for TV comes in the form of Dr. Horrible’s Singalong Blog. I discovered it late last year (or rather was shown it, thanks Becky!) and I have to say it rocks! It’s an original musical by Joss Whedon starring Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day and Nathan Filion. I won’t go too much into the plot, but I will say that the super villain is actually the hero in this one.
Thoughts on the cops
Posted by Jason in Commentary, My Writing, News on March 19, 2010
First off, I’d like to issue a rare bit of congratulations to the Montreal Police for their reaction to the tragic death during the St-Patrick’s Day Parade, the first such incident in 186 years. Instead of using it as an excuse to justify a crackdown on public drinking during the annual celebration, they instead argued that it is a matter of personal responsibility.
The spring has sprung
Posted by Jason in Commentary, My Acting on March 17, 2010
I am proud to bring you this site’s first weather update, sort of. While the calendar may not acknowledge that it’s spring yet, the weather outside here in Montreal has a different idea. For a few days now, I haven’t been afraid to leave my window open for long stretches of time and last night when I went to the store, things felt inviting.
Stuff I didn’t do part one: Star Wars

A friend of mine said that I should put more personal stuff online . She was talking in particular about what I write on this site and the videos I favorite on my personal YouTube page. You see, it seems that to be more personal, I need to post more stuff that I like rather than what I do.
The oldest bar in America (or at least Manhattan)
Posted by Jason in Commentary, Travel on March 10, 2010
While so much of Manhattan has changed around it, it’s good to see that McSorley’s Old Ale House hasn’t changed much. When you walk into the place, have a look at the chairs, the walls and the sawdust on the floor, you can tell off the bat that this isn’t faux vintage, it’s the real deal.
NYC snow trucks: making do with what you have
Posted by Jason in Commentary, Travel on March 5, 2010
A few days before we arrived last week, New York City was greeted with something we were told was a rather large blizzard. I’m not sure if it would rate as a blizzard or even rate as a large snowfall by Montreal standards, but it did seem big by local standards
Fighting the good fight with a parody video
Posted by Jason in Commentary, Funny Videos, My Acting on February 11, 2010
For months now, the artists of Café Cleopatre and the rest of the Save the Main coalition have been fighting the good fight against the Angus Development Corporation and the Tremblay administration’s attempts to evict them in favor of a skyscraper office tower in the center of the Quartier des Spectacles. I’ve supported the coalition from the get-go and now have a chance to help out with my acting and writing

Occupy Wall Street: It took police violence to get the media’s attention
Posted by Jason in Commentary, My Writing on September 29, 2011
Sometimes all it takes is a little violence to get attention. In this case it was police violence. Last week on Forget The Box I wrote about how the mainstream media was ignoring the Occupy Wall Street protest pretty much across the board, just like how the state-controlled media in places like Egypt and Bahrain [...]
